Founded in 1995 as an amateur club, Al-Nassr has rapidly developed since then, winning the 1998 Asian Cup Winners' Cup and the Asian Super Cup.
Blue and yellow are the home colors, with yellow symbolizing the desert sands of Saudi Arabia. The club logo features a map of the Arabian Peninsula.
